AND THE WINRAR IS...
First off, a huge thanks very much to everyone who contributed and entered our first ever fan photo contest. We got a ton of awesome entries and we were totally overwhelmed by the pure awesomeness of our awesome fans and friends. In fact, there was so much awesome that we had to reformat the competition and instead of a 1st, 2nd and 3rd, we're gonna break it down fresh and slice it into categories. Like the Oscars. It's gonna be great. You'll see...
---------------------------------------------------
Most Eggsellent Photo
In the category of eggs and breakfast, there was a whole lot of awesome. Obviously, ZOMG is awesome on eggs, but who had the best photo? The nominees are:

Chip with some poached perfection:
Uncle Fes with a New Year's breakfast feast:
AND THE WINRAR IS:
Matt! With his cool cup and homegrown eggs! Hard to compete against a guy who actually raised the eggs himself. What you know about organic?

ZOMG Recipe Submissions. Serious Business.
This was the best. Getting full recipe submissions from some super awesome and super creative people. This one was a bitch to judge. The ZOMGesus and The ZOMGenius did not see eye to eye on this one. A third, nonpartisan judge had to be brought in to settle it. The nominees are:

VS:
Ben and Waun with their ZOMGussels:
Hey ZOMGuys,
This holiday Lauren and I did mussels for our Christmas dinner, but instead of normal mussels, we did ZOMGussels! Here's a recipe for those of us out there that love ZOMG and love seafood:
Ingredients:
2lbs fresh mussels, cleaned and de-bearded
1/4 cup butter
1 white onion, diced
1 large tomato, diced
2 cloves garlic, diced
1/2 cup cava (we used Segura Viudas)
2-3tbsp Batch 101
Directions:
1. Get a large saucepan with a lid that fits tightly. Inside, melt the butter, and sautee the tomato, onion and garlic together until they're softened on medium-high.
2. Pour in the mussels, QUICKLY add the wine and ZOMG, and get the lid on. Reduce the heat to medium.
3. Simmer the mussels in the saucepan for 5 minutes or until they're all (or nearly all) opened, shaking it to get the ones near the top down where the heat is.
4. Take saucepan off the heat, and carefully drain through a strainer into a bowl. KEEP THE ZOMGusselJuice(c)!
5. Transfer (dump) mussels into your serving dish, we used a large salad bowl.
6. Your hands are probably already tired from cleaning and de-bearding all those mussels, but if you have the energy, eat one out the shell (for QC if nothing else), and use half of that shell to scrape out 10 or so of its friends so there's a high ratio of delicious to shell, especially at the bottom. Shake the serving dish around to distribute them.
7. If you're feeling creative, you can put the ZOMGusselJuice back on the stove quickly at this point and thicken it, or add some new flavours. We added more 101 and let it boil for a minute or two.
8. Pour ZOMGusselJuice evenly over the mussels in the serving dish.
9. Serve and enjoy! We had ours with caesar salad and a sliced baguette. Serves 2 hungry people.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When you're cleaning mussels, give each one a couple taps on the shell and within a couple seconds it should close up tightly. if it doesn't, throw it away. Same with cracked or damaged ones. When you're eating them, if any aren't open enough you can fit a finger easily between the sides of the shell, same deal, it was dead when it went in the pot.
Hope you guys enjoy our recipe!
AND THE WINRAR IS:
Rob and his hawt nuts! Again, this one was a bitch to judge. A righteous bitch. In the end, the nuts took it. It might have had something to do with Rob supplying samples along with his entry, or the fact that he submitted half a dozen photos along with the recipe... But Rob's nuts took it by a hair.
